Cooking Tips for Dessert

Cooking Tips

  • This is going to be really, really thick. That’s all right. That’s what you want.
  • You don’t want any clumps. None.
  • You could do this and make this in your stand mixer, but it’s really easy to just do it by hand.
  • You can add nuts to that too, or try a super soft banana bread recipe with walnuts.
  • This is probably the hardest part of the entire thing is getting this in here and spreading it out.

Serving Suggestions

  • I’m going to cut these all in squares and put them wrap them up for my family for tomorrow, perhaps with a scoop of easy homemade ice cream.

So there you have it.

So there you have it friends, you and your family will love it.

Easy Family Night Chocolate Chip Dessert Recipe

An incredibly easy and delicious chocolate chip dessert perfect for family night. This recipe uses two yellow cake mixes as a base, enhanced with additional ingredients to create a rich, chewy, and satisfying treat that can be made ahead of time. It’s simple to ‘doctor up’ a box cake mix for a fabulous dessert that everyone will love.

  • 2 yellow cake mixes
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 cups chocolate chips
  • Nuts (optional)
  1. In a large mixing bowl, crack the four eggs.
  2. Add the two-third cup of oil to the bowl.
  3. Combine the yellow cake mixes with the eggs and oil. Mix thoroughly until well combined. The mixture will be very thick; this is exactly what you want. Ensure there are no clumps.
  4. Once the mixture is well blended, add the three cups of chocolate chips. Fold these into the batter using a rubber spatula. If desired, add nuts at this stage as well.
  5. Prepare a large baking pan (such as a 9×13 inch or larger for this quantity) by giving it a good spray with cooking spray.
  6. Spread the thick batter evenly into the prepared pan. This may be the hardest part; use your rubber spatula to press and spread the mixture into all corners, ensuring the pan is filled evenly without any holes.
  7. Bake in a preheated 350-degree Fahrenheit (175°C) oven for approximately 25 minutes, or until the dessert is golden brown and set.
  8. Once baked, allow the dessert to cool completely before cutting it into squares for serving.
