These air-fried garlic Parmesan chicken wings have crisp edges, juicy meat, and a savory coating added after cooking. The air fryer handles the browning with less mess than deep-frying.
The Crisp-Wing Checklist
- Pat the wings very dry before seasoning.
- Arrange them in one layer with space for hot air to circulate.
- Turn or shake them partway through cooking.
- Add the garlic-Parmesan coating after the skin is crisp.
My Crisp-Wing Routine
I dry the wings twice—once when they come out of the package and again just before seasoning. That little pause removes surface moisture and gives me noticeably crisper skin.
Work in Batches
An overcrowded basket traps steam. If your air fryer is small, keep the first batch warm in a low oven while the second cooks. Check the thickest wing reaches at least 165°F (74°C), without touching bone.
When to Add Garlic and Parmesan
Toss the hot cooked wings with the coating so it clings without burning. Finely grated Parmesan distributes more evenly than large shreds.

Storage and Reheating
Refrigerate within 2 hours and use within 3–4 days. Reheat in the air fryer until hot and crisp; avoid leaving cooked wings at room temperature for extended periods.

Easy Air-Fried Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings Recipe

Whip up amazing, crispy air-fried garlic parmesan chicken wings, perfect for game day or any occasion. These wings are incredibly easy to make and packed with flavor.
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1-2 tablespoons preferred chicken seasoning blend
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, freshly minced or chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped, plus more for garnish
- 1/2 cup fresh Parmesan cheese, for shaving
- Begin with your chicken wings. Drizzle them with a little bit of oil and give them a nice massage.
- Season the wings generously with your preferred chicken seasoning blend, ensuring they are well coated.
- Load the seasoned chicken wings into your air fryer.
- Air fry the wings at 375°F (190°C) for the first 15 minutes.
- At the halfway point (after 15 minutes), flip your chicken wings. Continue to air fry for an additional 10 minutes to get them nice and crispy.
- In the meanwhile, melt down four tablespoons of unsalted butter in a pan to create the garlic Parmesan sauce.
- Toss in the freshly minced or chopped garlic into the melted butter. Also, toss in about 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley.
- Do not add the Parmesan cheese to the sauce yet, as fresh Parmesan will melt gooey in a way that is not desired.
- Once your chicken wings are beautiful and have an awesome crust, remove them from the air fryer and toss them in the prepared butter sauce to coat.
- After the wings are coated in the sauce, shave a generous amount of fresh Parmesan cheese right over the top of the piping hot wings. The heat from the wings will help the cheese melt slightly.
- Toss the wings again to distribute the Parmesan cheese evenly.
- Serve immediately. You can add a little bit more freshly chopped parsley for garnish if desired.
Pat the wings dry and leave room between them so the skin crisps. Cook chicken to 165°F/74°C, then toss with the garlic-Parmesan mixture. Refrigerate leftovers for 3–4 days and re-crisp before serving.
