If you love crispy potatoes, you are going to love these air fryer potatoes. They are ready to eat in less than 30 minutes, and they turn out perfectly crispy every time.

What You Need

Ingredients for air fryer potatoes

  • 1 pound potatoes (Yukon Gold, red, or russet)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Pinch black pepper

How to Make These Crispy Air Fryer Potatoes

  1. Cut the potatoes into 1-inch pieces. Try to keep them similarly sized so they will all cook evenly.
  2. When you’re done cutting the potatoes, preheat your air fryer to 360 degrees.
  3. While the air fryer is preheating, transfer the potatoes to a large bowl and drizzle them with the olive oil. For perfectly seasoned potatoes, add the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss well so the potatoes are evenly coated.

  1. When the air fryer is done preheating, transfer the potatoes to the bottom of your air fryer basket and arrange them in a single layer. Try to make sure that the potatoes are not touching as much as possible.
  2. Cook the potatoes for 15 minutes at 360 degrees.
  3. When the timer goes off, remove any smaller pieces that might be done already, then shake the basket and return the potatoes to cook for another five minutes. The potatoes are done when they are golden on the outside and tender on the inside and are easily pierced with a fork.
  4. If you had to remove any of those smaller pieces, you can add them back to the air fryer and cook for one more minute just to make sure the whole batch is nice and hot.

Cooking Notes

My six-quart air fryer can usually hold a whole pound of potatoes at once, but if you have a larger air fryer, you may be able to cook even more. In my experience, you’ll get the crispiest results when you use a basket-style air fryer, but you can also cook these potatoes in an oven-style air fryer when you use a wire tray that allows for plenty of circulation. This method is also great for making easy air-fried garlic parmesan chicken wings.

Serving Suggestion

Serve these potatoes warm right away for the perfect side dish. They pair wonderfully with crispy air fryer fried chicken for a complete meal.
