I’m gonna show you how to make homemade Caesar salad.

Fresh homemade Caesar salad on a plate

and all you need is a bowl and a whisk,
so let’s get started. If you enjoy making other easy homemade appetizer recipes, be sure to explore our collection.

Ingredients

Ingredients laid out for Caesar salad

  • real mayo
  • Dijon mustard
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • garlic
  • salt
  • pepper
  • freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • neutral tasting oil (preference: extra light olive oil)
  • freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • fresh, crisp lettuce
  • croutons
  • cheese

Instructions

Step 1

We’ll start with our creamy base,
and because we’re using real mayo here,
we don’t have to add any raw egg.
Next, add your Dijon mustard,
followed by Worcestershire sauce.
Also grate in some garlic,
or you can use a garlic press,
then season with salt and pepper.
Make sure you add freshly squeezed lemon juice
because it adds a lot of brightness to this dressing.

Step 2

Preparing Caesar salad dressing in a bowl with a whisk

Now whisk all of that together
until it’s really well combined and creamy smooth.

Step 3

While whisking vigorously, slowly drizzle in your oil.
My preference is extra light olive oil.
I don’t use extra virgin olive oil
because I feel like it ends up too strong flavor
for the dressing.

Step 4

And then last but not least,
once that is all whisked together,
add in your freshly grated Parmesan cheese.

All right, once the dressing is done,
this keeps really well in the fridge,
so we’re going to transfer this to a mason jar.

All we need to finish the Caesar salad
is some fresh, crisp, homemade lettuce that we’ve got here.
And then we’re going to add some croutons.
For a heartier meal, you might also consider serving it with easy crispy oven-baked chicken thighs.
So we’re just going to sprinkle those on, okay делу
And a nice generous drizzle of dressing.
And then, of course, I do like to add a little bit more cheese.
All right, toss this all together.

It does not compare.

  2. 2 Whisk until Smooth: Whisk all the ingredients together vigorously until the mixture is well combined and creamy smooth.

  7. 7 Dress and Serve: Drizzle a generous amount of the homemade Caesar dressing over the lettuce and croutons. Sprinkle with a little extra cheese (Parmesan) if desired. Toss everything together until well coated and serve immediately.
