Today I’m going to show you how to make spicy sausage rolls.

Ingredients

- 8 sausages or 500g of sausage meat
- 500g of puff pastry
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp of hot chilli powder or if you’re not quite a fan of too spicy you can use 1 tbsp of mild chilli powder
- 1 tsp of paprika
- 1 tsp of cumin
- chilli flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Firstly if you are using sausages you want to remove the meat from the casings and pop them in a bowl or if you’re using sausage meat just pop it in a bowl, similar to how you would prepare easy baked meatballs for dinner.
- Then to the sausage meat you want to add your chilli powder, your paprika and your ground cumin and mix until it’s really really welcome out so it’s a long rectangle.

- And then just cut the long rectangle in half and this will line the sausage meat down the middle of each of your long rectangles of puff pastry.
- Bring one long edge of the puff pastry over the sausage meat to meet the other long edge.
- Then using a fork just push down along that edge and that will help to seal the edges.
- Place the sealed sausage rolls onto a baking tray lined with baking paper.
- Using the remaining egg just wash the top.
- Then bake in a preheated oven at gas mark 6, 200 degree centigrade or 170 fan assisted for 30 to 35 minutes. These spicy sausage rolls are perfect served alongside other savory baked potato skins appetizer.

And there you have it, that’s how you make spicy sausage rolls.
Easy Spicy Sausage Rolls Recipe for a Flavorful Snack

This easy recipe guides you through making delicious spicy sausage rolls, perfect for a flavorful snack or appetizer. Featuring seasoned sausage meat wrapped in flaky puff pastry and baked to golden perfection.
- 500g (approx. 8) sausages, meat removed from casings, or 500g sausage meat
- 500g puff pastry
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp hot chilli powder (or 1 tbsp mild chilli powder for less heat)
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- Chilli flakes (optional, for extra spice)
- Preheat your oven to Gas Mark 6 (200°C or 170°C fan assisted). Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- If using sausages, remove the meat from their casings and place the meat in a bowl. If you are using sausage meat, place it directly into a bowl.
- To the sausage meat, add the chilli powder (hot or mild as preferred), paprika, and ground cumin. Mix thoroughly until all the spices are really well combined throughout the meat. Form the seasoned sausage meat into a single long rectangle.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry into a large rectangle. Cut the puff pastry in half lengthwise to create two long rectangles.
- Cut the long rectangle of sausage meat in half. Place one half of the sausage meat down the middle of each of your two long rectangles of puff pastry.
- Bring one long edge of the puff pastry over the sausage meat to meet the other long edge, effectively enclosing the filling.
- Using a fork, gently push down along the sealed edge. This will help to seal the edges and create a decorative pattern.
- Carefully transfer the sealed sausage rolls onto the prepared baking tray.
- Lightly beat the remaining egg in a small bowl. Brush the top of each sausage roll generously with the beaten egg to give them a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and flaky, and the sausage meat is cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly on the baking tray before serving. Enjoy your easy spicy sausage rolls!
