Easy Garlic Bread Recipe

Today we’re making easy, delicious garlic bread. It literally makes everything better, so why aren’t you making it all the time? This is also a recipe you can definitely prep in advance and then just bake off right before dinner. It’s super easy and makes you look really organized, even if you aren’t! For this recipe, we use fresh loaf bread, but if you’re looking for another way to utilize stale bread, consider making easy homemade bread cubes for perfect stuffing.
What You Need

- 2 smaller baguettes (or any French or Italian style loaf bread)
- 6 cloves garlic
- 10 tablespoons butter (unsalted preferred)
- 3-4 tablespoons fresh parsley
- ¼ teaspoon salt (if using unsalted butter)
- ¼ cup grated parmesan
How to Make It

- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Grab your bread and slice it right down the middle using a serrated knife. Place the sliced bread onto a baking sheet and set aside.
- Smash the garlic cloves to get the papers off and release some oils. Then, mince the garlic. You don’t want giant pieces of garlic. Set the minced garlic aside.
- Chop up three to four tablespoons of fresh parsley. Give it a nice mince, not giant pieces. Set aside.
- In a small skillet, melt 10 tablespoons of butter over low or medium-low heat.
- Once the butter is melted, add your minced garlic. Cook for two minutes, stirring constantly. You do not want your garlic to burn, as that’s very bitter. This step takes some of the bite off the raw garlic and intensifies the flavor as it caramelizes in the butter.
- If you used unsalted butter, stir in ¼ teaspoon of salt.
- Take the skillet off the heat and stir in your minced parsley.
- Grab your prepared bread on the baking sheet. Completely cover the bread in that butter mixture. You can spoon it on to start to get really good coverage, then use a brush to get any places you missed. Make sure to get all that butter off the skillet and onto the bread.
- Sprinkle ¼ cup of grated parmesan all over the top, aiming for nice coverage.
- Place the garlic bread into the preheated oven at 350°F for five minutes.
- After five minutes, set the oven to broil and broil for five more minutes until the garlic bread is golden and amazing.
- Once out of the oven, give it a slice into sizes you would enjoy and serve.
Recipe Notes

Homemade garlic bread makes the most amazing smell in the oven, and you can use it for all kinds of soups or pastas. It makes everything better!
When mincing garlic, you want to avoid giant pieces. Cooking the garlic in butter for a couple of minutes helps take some of the bite off, which is good if you find raw garlic hard to digest. It also intensifies the garlic taste as it caramelizes.
For parsley, flat leaf Italian parsley is often preferred over curly parsley, which can be a bit waxier. You can also use other herbs you enjoy.
One pet peeve is garlic bread that’s all dry with no butter, so make sure to completely cover your bread with the butter mixture!
